Rustic weddings seem to be all the rage these days. With many brides moving away from traditional weddings, we are seeing a more natural and relaxed atmosphere emerging. While each of these weddings are very different and have their own personal touches, there are a few common trends amongst them.
BURLAP: This natural looking fabric is extremely versatile and can be incorporated into nearly any part of a wedding. You will see it being used for anything from invitations, to table runners, to bouquet wraps, to drapery – its possibilities are endless!
GLASS JARS / CONTAINERS: Planting flowers in old pails or containers, decorating with used wine bottles , and using mason jars as candle holders or drinking glasses are staples of rustic wedding decor!
ANYTHING WOODEN: Incorporating handcrafted vintage doors and windows into your decor, and getting creative with old stumps and birchwood will create that very natural look characteristic of a rustic wedding.
COUNTRY ELEMENTS: Including elements you would encounter in the country are becoming more and more popular. A barn being used as a wedding venue is probably the most well known, but other examples include using covered hay bails as extra seating, old barrels and trailor beds as buffet tables, and horseshoes as place cards!
